Our aim is to provide an environment for positive learning in which people are supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.

The focus of our work is to build skills and self-esteem and to provide a service that meets your specific needs.

Services can be provided at the Learning Disability Solutions office at Semaphore, within your home, at school or at an agreed location.

Learning Disability Solutions is an NDIS approved provider and can offer individualised services to NDIS participants. Services can also be developed for self managed and non NDIS clients.

Karen Merrick is an experienced Specialist Teacher and Disability Worker who has extensive experience in developing and implementing individualised programs for adults and children. 

She holds qualifications in Teaching (Bachelor of Education), Training and Assessment (Certificate IV), Disability (Certificate IV) and Small Business Management (Certificate IV). 

Karen specialises in the remediation of Learning Difficulties, Neuro-Behavioural Disabilities and associated syndromes. 

She uses a multi-sensory explicit teaching approach. This is individualised for each student based on their particular needs. Karen is trained in using synthetic phonics and is a Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar teacher.

Karen offers training and educational consultancy services to parents, schools, individuals and other professionals. Training can also be offered in small groups. Karen also has experience in resource development.
